Not every college student knows how to plan, prepare and cook a family-style dinner for eight or more people, let alone compost the leftovers.

However, there is a residence on the Hendrix College campus that not only allows students to participate in these green-themed tasks, but invites them to learn this eco-friendly lifestyle by living it.

The Eco-House, an environmentally friendly housing option, gives students an opportunity to test their skills at living cooperatively. The house's seven residents do everything they can to lessen their impact on the planet, from recycling to buying in bulk to simply turning off the lights.
