7th December marked the opening of the COP15 Talks in Copenhagen, where world leaders are gathering to hopefully at least reach a political agreement on immediate actions to be taken to reduce emissions to slow the process of global warming, and protect the Earth's climate for future generations. Here at YoutHabitat, we all hope that our leaders will have sufficient humility to put aside their countries' individual agendas and come to a consensus on the emission cuts to be undertaken. Hopefully, the Copenhagen summit would be the watershed event in our quest to undo the damage we have wreaked on the environment, and not just another stalled round of talks, or worse still, shallow formalities which do not lead to any tangible actions.
Over in Copenhagen, a group of Singapore delegates sent by SYINC and ECO Singapore are observing the summit. The SYINC delegates have been keeping a blog running here detailing their observations in the summit proceedings. We at YouthHabitat would be reproducing selected entries, with thanks to the SYINC team for letting us use their material. Hopefully, this can give you a better picture of what is going on right at the epicentre of the talks!

P.S. Thanks once again to the SYINC team, and in particular, Sharon, for helping us out with this!
