The Zingiberales order is a large and diverse group of flowering plants with important economic, medicinal, food and ornamental uses. This order contains eight families of plants, which includes many familiar plants such as the cooking ginger, tumeric and galangal. Tropical garden ornamentals such as heliconis, brids of paradise and cannas belong to this order too. How much do you know about them? About Speaker Mr Wilson Wong is the Founder and Administrator of Green Culture Singapore. He is both an apartment and outdoor gardener and his gardening interests encompass indoor plants, vegetables and herbs, carnivorous plants and tropical plants such as Heliconia and gingers. He is also the Founder and Leader of the new community garden in Serangoon North Ave 2.
