18th of April 2010 marks the CDL E-Generation challenge, were you in the race? I wasn't, it flags off at Singapore Polytechnic and ended at Singapore's 1st Eco-mall, City Square Mall. I was awaitng for the teams arrival at City Square Mall. Me being a helper? Nope, me being a supporter!!!
Here is a write up by Kho Yu Li, Member of Singapore Polytechnic Environment Club 2009/2010...
I was excited just like anyone else to be able to participate in the Race representing SP. It feels totally like the amazing race on our televison which I felt it was cool. Throughout the morning, everything went on smoothly with not much hiccups.
"You do not need to be a hero to save the earth, just use less plastic bags!" says Earthlink NTU's Bring Your Own Bag committee. The club, NTU's only environment club, has managed to convince the school to adopt a weekly BYOB Wednesday which has been in effect since 6th January 2010.
Were you there at the anti littering campaign located at Plaza Singapura?
I was there!! I was there as a volunteer. It is the launch of the anti littering campaign brought to you by National Environment Agency (NEA). There were volunteers from all over Singapore, Ci Yuan YEC, Woodgrove Sec, Ngee Ann Sec, Nan Hua Sec, Northlight Sch and many many more~ It was indeed fun and lots of noise. Dr Yacob was the GOH who gave a touching speech~
Always known to be the largest polluter in the environment..
Consider the fact that BYOB is in the supermarket and we are encouraging the people that do their groceries in the supermarket to reduce the usage of plastics bags. Hmmm...yes they are indeed the ones that use the lots of plastic bags...
But take a step back, are they really the polluters?
